Frequently asked questions

How much does a pixel cost?
One euro per pixel. The smallest block you can buy is 1×1 pixels, which costs €1. The largest single purchase is 100×100 pixels. There are 1,000,000 pixels in total and the price never changes.
When am I charged?
Not at checkout. Your card is authorised, which holds the amount without taking it, and the money only moves when a human has approved your block. If we do not approve it, the authorisation is released and you are never charged.
How long does approval take?
Usually within a day or two. Payment authorisations expire after about a week, so we review well inside that window. You get an email either way.
Why was my block rejected?
The rejection email says why. The usual reasons are illegal or sexual content, content involving minors, hate speech, malware, deceptive imagery, impersonation, or a link to any of those. Rejection costs you nothing and you are welcome to submit different artwork.
Can I get a refund?
Before approval there is nothing to refund, because you have not been charged. After approval, sales are final — the space has been permanently allocated to you and cannot be resold. Pixels are sold as-is, with no promise of traffic, clicks or commercial benefit.
Will this help my search ranking?
No, and be sceptical of anyone who tells you otherwise. Every outbound link here carries rel="sponsored nofollow", which declares it to search engines as a paid placement passing no ranking value. That is both the honest thing to do and what keeps this site from being penalised as a link scheme. You are buying visibility to humans, not to crawlers.
What image formats can I upload?
PNG, JPG, GIF or WebP, up to 2 MB. Your image is cropped to fill your block exactly and re-encoded as a PNG. Metadata including EXIF and location data is stripped. Animation is not preserved — an animated GIF becomes its first frame.
My block is tiny. What will it actually look like?
At small sizes an image reads as a few coloured pixels rather than a picture. Bold shapes and flat colour work; detail and text do not. Every block also gets its own page with your title, description and link, which is where the words live.
How long do I have to complete a purchase?
A selection is held for 15 minutes while you upload and pay. Holds are free. If it expires, the pixels return to the grid and you can select again.
Can I change my image or link later?
You can ask to change the link, and it goes through review again. The image cannot be changed after approval, because the grid is composited as one image and re-cutting it retroactively would undermine its permanence.
How long will the site stay online?
We are committing to at least 5 years. If it ever has to close sooner, we will give at least 90 days' notice on the terms page. Nobody can honestly promise forever, so we are telling you the number we can stand behind.
What happens if a link starts serving malware?
We disable it, without refund. We check links periodically and act on reports. If the image is still acceptable it stays on the grid with the link removed.
